not certain since I don't have her, but from the description it sounds like it increases your chances of finding rare items from missions.

Ie.

chance of finding an item is 2%
with kona chan = 4%
with Stand By your Ninja = 8%
with Epid Dog Urination Technique = 80%

Thus from an item it would statistically take 50 attempts to find, you only have to statistically try and find it once.

I think. Not sure. At all.

I remember checking last time I was looplocked, and I noticed that, in fact, 50% of the Ryo I was gaining per mission was just simply vanishing without any sort of message.

Oh, really? You should probably check that again, and compare what it shows that you get to how much your ryo increases on your sidebar.

I'm almost certain that while the village doesn't get your taxes, the tax rate is still taken from the ryo you get.
