Note that an invoice is a commercial document that a seller issues to the buyer. The invoice indicates what products or services are being sold and the prices of these products or services. Sellers have the obligation to provide invoices to customers. All together the invoice provides authorities data on the earnings of the seller or store owner or entrepreneur. These documents are also important for record-keeping and assessment purposes. For the buyer the invoice is the proof of purchase and ownership. Since it is an essential document an invoice should bear the right information about the products prices name of company/seller and name of buyer.
6. Payment Terms Clear agreement on payment terms should be written down on the invoice template. This helps prevent misunderstanding between the client and supplier. It also helps establish terms of payment in a clear concise manner. In order to create your own invoice template you can use a variety of existing software available today. Most widely used are Microsoft s Word and Excel which provides a basic customizable format for your invoice templates. When choosing to send the invoice through email you can change the file into a PDF format so that it can be sent over to the client.

Dates There are only two dates that are important in an invoice template and these are the ones that reflect on the document. These are the date the invoice is raised and the date by which the payment is due. 4. Client Details Client details should include the client s name address and contact number. 5. Fees This is where the gross amount of the invoice made is reflected. Along with it the description of the item/s or type of service provided. Also included is the VAT number if available and the total amount due.
