You need an understanding with your providers as to when you are going to be paid for your services. Doctors are often not the best businessmen and are sometimes not very good about paying bills on time. Especially when you are first starting your business it is vital that your provider understands when you expect payment and that you have something well written to protect you if you end up with someone interpreting the language of your contract in court. Each year you are in business you find additional things that need to be added to your contract. New situations arise that you realize should be covered in your contract. So how do you cover everything that needs to be covered? You need a list - actually several lists. You need a list of what you feel the providers responsibilities are. You need a list of what you feel your responsibilities are.
It is a good idea to try to think of everything that can go wrong in the relationship and write down your feelings about how those situations should be handled. You should be able to come up with a long list. In the circumstances of a new biller it can be difficult to know what can go wrong. Most providers expect to sign some form of contract when using a third party service and generally expect the billing service to produce it. They want to make sure they are covered as well as the medical billing service. Going over the contract with a provider starting out with you can set the stage for a successful relationship. You can go over the terms carefully making sure the provider understands what you need to make it a beneficial partnership. Most of us when we are starting our businesses do not realize how much a good contract can affect their business.

Sample business proposals are excellent in that they allow the client to see what their logo and letterhead will look like on different designs and thus allows the client several different options which makes the decision process that much easier. This also allows you to save time by not having to schedule endless meetings because the document is "just not quite right." Sample business proposals allow you to give your client a choice which moves the client along in the decision making process and will allow you to get a client signature to begin the work. It also allows you to complete the project very quickly taking into account the businesss specific look and feel as well as how they word their documents.
